'FROM' error when trying to convert General Ledger Transaction 2-1 report from Providex to SQL

ISSUE:


“FROM” error when trying to convert General Ledger Transaction 2-1 report from Providex to SQL.


SYMPTOMS:


When trying to run out the General Ledger Transaction Details 2-1 report. The following error message appears:

CAUSE:

The general cause of this issue is that, with the General Ledger Transactions 2-1 report in PVX, this report’s container has the “FROM” clause in the join. If you tried to export the report from PVX and import into SQL, you would get this error.


RESOLUTION/WORKAROUND


This issue can be fixed in two ways:

1) Removing the “From” in the container

- Open “Report Manager”

- Navigate to Financials | General Ledger Transaction Details 2-1 (MAS) | Source Container | GL Transactions 2-1 (MAS).

- Right click GL Transactions 2-1 (MAS) container.

- Click on “Go to Container In Connector”.

- Click “yes” when prompted.

- Observe on the right hand side , the “Source Container (Join)” section.

- Remove the “FROM” clause.

- Click “Apply”.

- Open “Report Manager” .

- Re-run the General Ledger Transactions 2-1 Report.

2)	Keeping the “Universal Query Engine” Checked in the “Connector”

- Navigate to Financials | General Ledger Transaction Details 2-1 (MAS) | Source Container | GL Transactions 2-1 (MAS).

- Right click GL Transactions 2-1 (MAS) container.

- Click on “Go to Container In Connector”.

- Click “yes” when prompted.

- Observe on the right hand side , the “Show Advanced” check box.

- Check the “Show Advanced” check box.

- Scroll down to the “Execute with Universal Query Engine” check box

- Ensure that the checkbox is checked.

- Click “Apply”.

- Open “Report Manager” .

- Re-run the General Ledger Transactions 2-1 Report.
